Tower of
Stone (ToS) - Review:
"Ancient
Tears" travels us to another day, like we are sailing and though
we search for the light, there are always many obstacles ,like the high
waves. Searching for glory, we may give hell… do the worst for others…,
but we will take hell, as well. Always wandering for a new horizon, even
it's an unknown one... This is difficult enough as we don't know our destination…
Do we die for glory? Do we die for tomorrow? Another life may rise, but
still wondering… with our ancient tears, tears we haven't forgotten!
"Hammer of Thor" talks about thunders and the power of
God, something we can all hear… It is well-said, just for the damned…
"Rune Stones" reminds us all warriors, real warriors,
a tale written with their bones, their one blood, their death… Either
the battles have been won or lost, the Rune Stones will always write their
names, names which will be forever remain!
"Threshold to Valhalla" mentions clearly the end of the
war, the broken clouds, a better life, the afterlife! An afterlife with
brightness, as the fight has been won, everything is shining, the shields,
the ceiling, everything in the honour and respect to the last breath…,
a satisfying one…, as we now walk into the light and peace while
the holy doors are open!
"Carved in Stone": In an effort to be free, even with
wings of pain, we can see the light after the rain, the hope after a disaster…
Real lovers can carve their names on a stone, so that they will mark their
way and time with their heart. Even if this road seems to end soon, it
may not, through our willingness and expression of remembering each other…
"Dragon Ships": True fighters don't care if the waters
are too deep, they can keep fighting as the dragon's head will surely
help them to conquer again what they really wish! So, they keep sailing
and now they can see a new horizon after so much time, so much struggle,
they will finally find their destination. Though, there are some misfortunes
like other struggles, maybe different and more difficult this time, which
might make them feel the darkness and the blood… But, they keep struggling!
"Slayer" is a song representative of our days, talking
about destruction of Peace, wars, flames, the Darkness that conquers our
lives, we all feel that the end is near… We pray for mercy, our souls
to be saved. But, Slayers are those who usually win in this life, if we
stop our opposition and surrender with our "dead" bodies…
"God of Thunder": A real god we can all see with his
eyes of fire burning the heaven… And all these, because when he greets
us, we greet him too… Lots of thoughts through this song!
"Heart of a Viking"! Such an amazing song! Wondering
if this is the end and the journey of life has stopped here, "we
sail on troubled waters", as there are too many troubles without
a trace of light in our lives…, we can still search for such a great
and powerful Heart! The Heart of a Viking, with which we will never stop
our lives, as we will always search and see new horizons. We can really
leave the old ones or keep the ones which were happy, peaceful for us!
And here is where the Freedom comes. Freedom from the Chains of our torture!
So, we now have the power to wonder and find the right answers…!
In "The
Sorcerer's Dream", our heroe is watching everything from above
the sky, feeling that the lands are turning to red, reminding of tales,
tales that become true… He has got a bad feeling and he dreams that
evil may win him, but there is still hope and light till the dream becomes
a nightmare…
In "Journey to the Valley", he wishes to win the glory
of the Valley and disappear the Dark Lord, that's why he becomes a real
warrior, defending all mankind, no matter how afraid he might feel. He
wants to feel free and only!
"The Battle" is just what the title describes, feeling
that he has to fight every moment and never stop for the princess' heart,
but this could be expanded into real life! If we aren't real warriors
and never surrender to evil or the ones who want to harm us, then we will
never get our heart back, as well as the heart of our lovely persons…
"Trapped in the Castle": Like we are trapped in our lives
and as our songwriter describes it perfect, a princess is in such a castle.
In a dark room, with no escape, cold both inside and outside… And,
if someone tries to help us, we may accept it, but even if we will be
able to see the light again, nothing will be the same again. Especially,
if this castle is our own selves, breathing no air…
The "Magic Mirror" is something totally strange for us,
though enchanting… Everything new is magic! Even though we've got
inhibitions, we try to get into this world, this "mirror" as
our artist says, but we feel pain, as nothing is sure, we feel unsafe
for the likelihood that something bad is inside this world. Here is the
dilemma of our lives: If we are risky or not for something unknown…
"The Tale of the Forest" is such a majestic song, talking
about a tale of a child, who was missed. Storytellers are used to telling
lies or things to exaggeration and this is our whole world, as when the
child was found, the ogre which had her, was killed by the others…
Though, this was too painful for the girl, as this monster was monster
only in appearance and helped her! So, people who surround us may be monsters
outside them, but the real monsters are those who have got malevolent
heart!!!
"Here comes the Ogre" is the continuity of the previous
song, as this monster came alive again, cause he wasn't killed only physically,
but also soulfully and that was too painful. So, the sorrow of the child
rejuvenated him and these are true feelings, feelings too rare nowadays…
And as the song "Fires in the Sky" says, when the truth
comes to surface, everything is enlightened again! There is no darkness,
but only hope and fires make the sky and us more warm-hearted!
"Enchantia" is a review of the previous songs, showing
the road, really too long, but at the end what predominates is the Light
and only! Brightness and Freedom are around us, evil has just disappeared!
"Do
or Die" is the way there are two borderline cases. The extreme
limits of our life! Through the Darkness, we can see the real Light someone
hides, how someone can arise again, diverting the clouds of his soul into
bright ones. The artist here says, full of expression in his refrain,
that we can die and dive into the Darkness again, but we can also live
and see the glory of this world, instead of being blinded… Most times,
we can understand that if we have already felt dead…
"Frozen Tears" can only exist inside us, in our heart,
when we try not to feel at all… Though, we may meet angels, people
that are so pure inside them and understand that these Frozen Tears can
be altered in Warm Tears!
"Purple Skies" describes the lost communication between
people, the sensation somewhere hidden, something which can be slowly
acquired like a rainbow out of Purple Skies!
"Stone by Stone" convey us an optimistic side of life,
as a new world can really rise, even if it seems that we are far from
it… The willing and persistence to live prevail and with all our
fears, we can build a new Tower stone by stone, indeed!
"Learn to Accept" describes a new world of a metal man,
who remains restless, with a steel heart standing everything. That's why
he learns to accept these years which are coming…
"Walls of Fear" are the walls most people build around
them, not knowing what to do, what is the next step and always wondering
about what they have to do… They feel sinful and they are too afraid
about that, underestimating themselves, not knowing if they are blessed
or cursed…
"Painting Tomorrow": Such a song which shows how we can
plan our future! A real paining with glimmering lights, souls trying to
find their way. Like shining stars, they can draw their own path, better
than the previous one. The only thing they need is courage to find their
heart!
His song
"Into the Shadow" expresses both literally and metaphorically
what might happen when someone is in the Shadow. We can rise and then
fall down again, like evil has won us, like we never arose…, feeling
our soul burning, like we are in hell and feel nothing else but the dark.
There is no light, at all! We are trying to find a shelter, but it is
a dead end… We know neither the way of dying nor the way of living…
Nothing can be done and the evil is inside us… And, we feel pain.
Pain for the loss of our Soul, not for suffering…
"The
Sacred Dragon" talks about the nightmares our heroe has got every
night, the fears behind this dragon, the fears inside him, while fighting
everything and everyone who tries to harm him, like in our real life…
we can burn others with our fire!
"City of Sin" is our subconscious when we are trying
to be right and do the best we can and we feel voices surrounding us and
talking only about our sins, wounds that can't be healed… Though,
we try not to get inside this world…, as we know that undead people
physically, are dead in their souls and we prefer our souls alive!
When our soul is harvesting, the end has come. There is no worst end for
people… That is deeply expressed by our artist in his song "The
Reaper". Being afraid if it is for good or for bad, being afraid
if it is heaven or hell, like death has already come. Anxiety around our
heroe, around everyone who can feel these words, fear about our secrets,
our sacred secrets, we feel betrayed by our own lives… Afraid for
our friends, mates, family…
Although, we feel so warm when the one we really love is next to us, even
when we imagine the other half of us is besides us. Even if it is not
true… It is painful if we open our eyes, but it can be cathargic
if we imagine him or her… Like starlit eyes lead us up to the moon
and we feel like flying from happiness! We wish our Love was with us and
we make a promise to the other if the presence is not obvious… Since
we promise it to ourselves, we promise it to our Star! To the brightest
Star we have ever seen…And the "Starlit Eyes" make
us feel the warmth we really need in our life, understanding how much
we needed real Love, leading us to a better shining world, where we wish
to be forever!
Then, the "Rainbow Moon" comes… with all its beauty.
Our heroe has been enchanted. He can't move. He wants to, but he stands
still, because he is blinded by such a light. The light which was lost
above… Now, there is no darkness any more… Only a Rainbow Moon
with such brilliance! It is so magic! He discovers new worlds he hadn't
imagined… But, this world turns to darkness once again… He is
still suffering, he is still thinking of the signs he had foreseen…
And he remains speechless. He can only write…
After feeling chained, full of thoughts about the decisions we have to
take, feeling down for too long, feeling like we have lost his way, we
wish to break this shackles and start feeling free, leaving our prison.
The mirror, here, the songwriter has mentioned before he showed a better
man, and his song "The Devil's Stand" describes how much
he wants to leave behind this devil and as he is decided to do so, he
does, with the best way: Taking his life in his hands!
Many times, we need to describe a big Love that has passed through the
years. Our artist describes such a Love through "The Forgotten
Castle". A Castle where a King and a Queen where together, full
of brightness, giving light to the whole castle, feeling so much the one
for the other, that their two hearts became one! Their feelings were so
strong that nobody believed they would fade… leaving the castle black,
though, as it is described such kinds of Love are immortal…
The songs
of Egon are talking about real life, but with the images of the songwriter.
As we can see, he is really descriptive, talking about both evil and good
in one's life and how much someone can fight between the two of them.
He gets inspired, but he also inspires us to see our lives and weigh what
best suits to us. Through his songs, he really gives us the meaning of
someone's real fight when he has to face each obstacle, like melancholy,
desperation, disappointment and arise again, looking the results of choosing
the path he would like to follow. He talks about searching in the darkness,
wondering about his nightmares, nightmares we all have, questions we all
want to answer in our everyday life… And, in nightmares, we all feel
like chasing Dragons with cold heart… Cold heart… Is this real?
Does this exist? All these questions emerge from our artist's songs. We
are trying to find a way to be free, like our heroe here. And the heroe
is called Egon!
Many feel that are led to the darkness, where they are welcomes among
candles and they can find a better and safer place, warmer than any other
one. Though, our Soul will be saved. Music and artists can be our saviours
for as long as we live…
Egon follows the path of good, a place of a more brilliant world, though
he has passed through thick and thin, facing the darkness, the devil,
the dragon. He really deserves a lot, as such comparisons are rare. And
that, because he dares to express real feelings, feelings that most people
are afraid of…
